Macaroni and Cheese Recipe
Made with Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, cooked macaroni, and seasonings.
INGREDIENTS:
1 box uncooked macaroni (large shells)
4 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper, or to taste
1½ - 2 cups milk
1 8oz package Sharp Cheddar cheese
1 8oz package Monterey Jack cheese
paprika, or all spice seasoning
PREPARATION:
In a saucepan, boil water, and then add a little salt and macaroni. Cook for about 10 minutes until soft. (Follow directions on box of macaroni).
Drain and Rinse macaroni.
While the macaroni is cooking slice the cheese. Lay the cheese on its long side and slice the short end.
In a deep (4-5 inches) baking dish, lightly butter the sides and bottom of dish.
Add a layer of macaroni shells, place small slices of butter over the macaroni, lightly salt, pepper, and season the shells. Add a layer of cheese (add one slice of Sharp Cheddar cheese; next to it add a slice of Monterey Jack cheese, keep alternating between the two until the shells are covered.)
Add another layer of shells; continue to alternate layers of macaroni and cheese. The top layer should be cheese.
Pour Milk over the top layer of cheese. There should be about ½ inch of milk covering the bottom of the dish.
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 - 50 minutes, or until hot and lightly golden brown on top.
